“Radiant Land” - A New Exhibition by Maroun Hakim

Maroun Hakim writes in introducing his new exhibition: “Luminous is the face of the earth, in its vibrations, its fertility and its interactions with light, water and soil. This dense identification with the beauties of nature does not prevent the interventions of my interior with current external events, and the anxious premonitions from which darkness and sadness emanate.”
This exhibition aims to complete the artistic research of Maroun Hakim by attracting all means, mediums and rules in the field of creative innovation of styles and techniques. The physical reality of painting is constantly perceptible with him, because the lyricism of his compositions is based on the density of their material which is at once robust, implacable and reassuring.
Françoise Barbe-Gall, the French historian and art critic writes in her introductory text to the exhibition: “We will not see the end of the history that is being played out here. Because each painting by Maroun Hakim accompanies its flowering, letting himself be carried away and surprised by the vitality of nature that he tirelessly discovers...”.
The collection of works on display consists of 43 new paintings, created between 2022 and 2023, in addition to 12 bronze sculptures worked between 1992 and 2021 and cast in 2023.
